Kitchen conversations between a comfort cooking mom and her cosmopolitan culinarian daughter.

Who is Comfy?

I'm the mom. I'm also a librarian, wife, mother (of Kristin), (very) amateur photographer, deck gardener (fewer critters), avid reader, and summertime runner. My name is Lynne, and I live in Rochester, New York (which explains "summertime runner") but when I grow up I would love to be a southern gentlewoman who knows her way around a biscuit. My love of food came rather late in life - after I left home and discovered that vegetables don't grow in cans, and that the normal form of orange juice is liquid rather than powder. I'm slowly learning the art of cooking from scratch, and look forward to sharing my successes and failures with all of you. So, set yourself down while we share some stories and (hopefully) a few laughs along the way.

Who is Cosmo?

Hi, I'm Kristin. I'm Lynne's daughter. I'm also an architect, John's wife, artist, mother (of a furry-four-legged pup named Lola), cheese addict, "regular" at the gym (HA! yeah, right), part-time gardener (often more like plant assassin), bargain-hunter (aka cheapskate), gulity tv-watcher (such a bad habit), beer snob, and chef-wanna-be (but will settle for pretty darn good cook). Rochester used to be home, but after a brief four year stint in Philly for college, then a slightly longer gig in Chicago, I now call Tarrytown, NY my home.
